Roee Mordechai and Sharona Furman, Owners

Apron Masters Kitchen is the brainchild of partners Roee Mordechai and Sharona Furman. For Roee, the inspiration behind Apron Masters Kitchen was born from the desire to improve the options for kosher recreational activities within the community and provide a relaxed environment that encourages everyone to learn about food. “Being comfortable in the kitchen is an important skill regardless of age or experience,” Roee explained, “and our mission is to instill a love for creating and sharing food by cooking and creating in a relaxed, nurturing environment.” 

Having spent time working behind-the-scenes in multiple restaurants, Roee has nurtured a love for Kosher cuisine and understands the social nature behind cooking, hosting and sharing meals. Prior to the opening of Apron Masters, Roee also worked as a real estate salesperson where he enjoyed the ability to work with people and help them accomplish their goals. Outside of the kitchen, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.

For Sharona, her inspiration came when her daughters developed an interest in the kitchen but were unable to find a Kosher place that offered a sense of comfort and community. Her belief is that food brings people together, and that Apron Masters Kitchen will be the perfect place for everyone of all ages to gather, inspire and create. 

Born in Israel and raised in Queens, Sharona now lives with her husband and their three children. She practiced pharmacy for 20 years before making the decision to change course and pursue food and hospitality instead. As the daughter of an experienced hostess, Sharona is also deeply familiar with the ins and outs of a kitchen and the importance of eating together. With two daughters of her own, she has helped them learn to cook and host and continue the tradition. She is happiest when surrounded by friends and family over a home cooked meal.

Both with families of their own, Roee and Sharona strive to create an open, inviting, family-oriented kitchen that makes cooking fun and accessible for everyone.
